The instructional design for this course is Group Paced. This course trains officers to perform the duties prescribed for Airfield Operations Officers. Block I, Airfield Operations Officer Introduction includes Career Field Introduction and AO roles and Resonsibilities. Block II, AOF Systems and Equipment, includes RAWS Basics, DATCALS, DATCALS Maintenance and Structure, Maintenance Principles and Airspace Integration and Flight Inspections. Block III, Airfield Management, includes Types of Airfield Environments, Flight Plans, NOTAMs, Parking Plans, Pvement Classifications, Airfield Markings/lighting/Inspections and Checks/Waiver Packages and Civil Aircraft use of Military Airfields . Block IV, Air Traffic Control Fundamentals includes General Flight Rules, FAA/ICAO Operational structure, Aviation P{rinciples, Weather Reporting and Crew Resource management. Block V, Air Traffic Control Tower includes Control Tower Principles and Operations. Block VI, Radar Approach Control includes RAPCON Principles, Non-Radar Principles and RAPCON Operations. Block VII, Airfield Operations Flight Contingency Operations includes Introduction to contingency/full spectrum C2 Ops, AF and Joint Doctrine, AO Management, CAOC, Contested Environments, Combat Airspace and Joint All-Domain Command and Conrol. This course also trains 19Z1A Special Tactics Officers in Blocks I - V and International students Blocks I - VI
